That's truly awful. The way believers thrust their convictions at you gets right up my nose. Why not an interesting bit of sculpture that even we heathen could appreciate?
I'm not sure leaving a statue out in the middle of nowhere counts as "thrusting their convictions". And would it even be possible to make a sculpture that doesn't tie in to what someone somewhere believes?
I also did the ring (hur hur) at the weekend. Bloody lovely, it is.
Road trip road trip road trip! I want to make a road trip and visit you in Ireland. Nice atmospheric picture. You would love the Frederic Mares museum in Barcelona, he was this eccentric Victoria collector and as well as the everyday domestic stuff, there's basically just room after room of lifesize Jesuses on the crucifixes. Spooky shit indeed.
Love all those statues, if not necessarily the mindset they were connected to. This one's bleeding: http://www.photographyserved.com/Gallery/WHAT-LIES-BENEATH-THE-SURFACE/121794 (half way down the page) deadly.
The Dingle Pinninsula and Slea Head is WAY nicer and quieter than the Ring of Kerry. There's a picture of me as a wee tot with this very same chalky vignette.
The thing about riding a bike is that nobody can touch me — not the cops, not the kids, not anybody. I'm too fast. The streets are too narrow. Sometimes life is just too easy. About | Pics

I love all that Jesus stuff. Is kinda spooky. Have been told that this is not actually the Ring of Kerry though. Sorry. We were at 'Slea Head'.

"Burning rings of Kerry"
What? Does this mean you can get a Vindaloo down there these days?
They didn't even have Chineese chippies when I was last in dem parts.
And it burned burned BURNED! Whadda road trip lady. Lots of road. Tent. Dog. Guitar. Americans X 2. It was a trip!
Did it move you Annie?
Or did it move for you ?
(we had moving ones during the last recession, in West Cork. They wobbled if you looked at them long enough, appearently)

I crawled round this corner in thick, thick mist one day and quite nearly shat myself in apocalyptic, seventh seal type fright.
