Check out her interview on The Daily Show...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thedailyshow.com/
Ha, thanks...
ReplyDeleteMichelle Obama: "Y'know I've stopped watching and reading a lot..."
Jon Stewart: "Oh, so you're a lot like Sarah Palin?"
Brilliant.
She should run for President herself.
ReplyDeleteThat's going a little too far, but Michelle Obama vs Hillary Clinton would be a fun primary
ReplyDeleteShe's fantastic. Our country surprised me in 2000 and 2004 (mind-boggling "what the hell just just happened" surprise) so I'm a little gun shy, but God I hope we're ready for a change.
ReplyDelete{sniffle} she is the awesomest. My heart's going to be in my throat through election day, but if the Obamas and the Bidens take the White House I have a lot more hope for the future of .. well, the whole planet, really.
ReplyDeleteyou know, she'll practically be my neighbor, soon. just saying, is all.
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more. They are both so awesome it gives me chills.
ReplyDeleteAh, I wish I could believe that it will all be okay; but I, too, will be watching (after voting) election night, my heart in my throat...
ReplyDeleteLove the Obamas. :-)

Annie> while u bother about something in the USA - the UK is about to go to 'war' with Iceland over 20 billion that Iceland has defaulted on (funds belonging to British savers, companies and local councils).
ReplyDeleteHello Ticked Off. Yes, I'm aware of that, and my heart goes out to all my Icelandic and British friends who are caught up in this mess.
ReplyDelete/ end political press statement
You know what I love so much about the Obamas? They're just so reasonable. And it's almost like 'reasonable' has been too much to ask lately.
Do you get to vote yet, Ingo?
Why are people expressing their anger with Iceland on your blonk? How does this make any sense?
ReplyDeletePS - Someone from north Wales was rude to me once. I blame you.
Hey. Is that why you blocked me on g-chat? I haven't seen you for ages.
ReplyDeleteThat was riveting. Isn't she fabulous? Such a big heart and a smart brain. Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteOo, I think I love her too. She even held strong against LK's Pat Kenny like goading: go on, watch this, aren't you upset, jsut a bit, go on, say something juicy, isn't that upsetting, aren't you angry NOW??'
ReplyDeleteSo I was at a conference today (in DC) and went in the gift shop to buy a paper-- and they had these really awesome Michelle and Barack '08 buttons. So I got youu two, because I basically had to, since it was clearly a sign. When are you coming, again?
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you so much! I hope you'll introduce them to me too. I should be there around 10th November give or take a few days, depending on how many cowboys I have to gun down on the railroad etc etc.
ReplyDeleteWhen you posted this I thought I'd have a little look, a taste, rather than watch a whole programme. I mean if god had wanted us to watch whole programmes why did he invent the remote control? So I was more than a little surprised that I couldn't stop listening to her all the way to the end.
ReplyDelete(....Do you get to vote yet, Ingo?)
ReplyDeleteNope, a green card isn't enough, but Helga can! She wasn't sure she wanted to register to vote (because it means you can be called for jury duty and stuff) but she's changed her mind, this is just too effing important! I'm very proud of her. :-)
So are you over there yet? When do you go? We should have a 'virtual' going away party for you.... I'll bring the shampoo.
ReplyDeleteOr should we be having Bud Light and corn dogs?
EW
Grace under fire from that cadaver, larry King.
ReplyDeleteI'm becoming a citizen on the 23rd of October. The deadline for voter registration in California is Oct 20th. I'm missing the chance to vote by 3 sodding days! It makes me feel ill.
I would have voted Obama, no question.
Ingó,
ReplyDeleteGetting a driver's license will put you on the jury duty lists at least as fast as registering to vote. I found out the hard way when I moved a few years ago and put off re-registering for that very reason. I got called anyway, and immediately went out to register, rather disappointed in myself for putting it off in the first place.
