  1. Is it weird that I knew this was Italian laundry before I saw the caption?
I've definitely been here too long.

  2. I took one just like this last week in Genoa. Except it was in colour. And the laundry was dark. And I was from much further away. Oh yeah, and it was raining.

  3. How come the T shirts are enormous and the knickers are tiny? What sort of person is this?

  4. It's laundry. It's been washed. It's in public.
I think I'm beginning to detect a metaphor here.
Don't start feeling guilty for what was not only an act of catharsis but also a stonking piece of prose, Annie.

  5. Well done JC Skinner, I thought that too but as Annie's mum I thought I'd better say nothing!

A remarkable piece of writing and I feel her pain.

  6. Of course, JC, of course. How dim am I? *slaps forehead*

Still wondering about those sizes though....

  7. I agree with JC.
I don't think I have read anything, better written than what you have written Annie. You have always said this blog is about you, with a pinch of salt, probably this post had the least amount of salt in it and more true about how you feel. (I could easily be wrong!) So that puts you in much of a better writer category, as you have written so amazingly about something you are going through, almost detached from it all and writing beautifully as a great writer would, but at the same time conveying how you felt in earnest.
Laundry shmaundry, you are dealing with it the best you can and your blonk is and has been part of you and the process. Use it as you like! :) I wish I could do the same.

  9. Annie,
Listen to Skinner, he said what I was thinking much better than I ever could have.

    PS. to Skinner,
    Excellent use of 'stonk'.

  11. Now, if you can, re-post it in colour. Life's like that.

  12. Ah, yes I was a bit slow on the uptake too. Annie it was a beautifully written piece describing something a lot of us have been through but don't have the skill to describe. xxx

I certainly hope this is not a metaphor for your airing your dirty laundry in public!!

At a time like this a girl needs to go out a get a whole new wardrobe! Throw out the grey M&S nickers honey and buy an expensive red g-string. They might not mend a broken heart, but I promise they will make you feel better!

    Still sending hugs your way

if this is a metaphor for life then i reckon the absence of PANTS means life is not so bad Ant

  15. Gorgeous and appropriate picture. And I have to agree with Anonymous regarding the absence of pants...

  17. Have you ever seen Michael Feinstein singing "Where Do You Start" while Brian Orser skates? It's on You Tube. It's very, very cool. Try looking under Brian Orser. It'll make you feel worse, but better.
