Know anyone in Dublin who wants to be a movie star?

We're holding auditions for two short 35mm films this weekend in Dublin, one of which is being directed by yours truly. These are student productions but we'll be working with actual real life professionals, including a Director of Photography who's just finished Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's latest flick, which I'm rather excited about. Roles as follows:

Film One
Female teacher: 35-60 years
2 Police Officers
3 Young People: 8-15 years
(Guardian must accompany minors to casting session)

Film Two
Male office workers: 20-40 years
Female office workers: 20-40 years
Male boss: 20-50 years
Guest speaker: 30-45 years
2 Police Officers

We'll be filming on November 10th and 11th on location. Auditions held this Saturday and Sunday at UCD. Email me for the Producer's phone number.

Apologies for the use of this blonk as advertising space. Next week: Viagra!

This small blonky break I seem to be taking

I don't really want to say that I've been "too busy" to blonk, just in case my former boss reads this and thinks: "Eh? How come she was never too busy to blonk when she worked for me?", but it's kind of true.

He'd say it in that sexy Icelandic accent of his, of course, which I'm pointing out so one day I might get my old job back, once all this "filmmaking" nonsense has fallen through.

Revenge of the Nerds

Bjarni is "on call" this weekend, which basically means he can't be more than three minutes away from the internet at any given time. Well, I think I was "on call" for the last six months then, in that case. Although I've been pretty slack recently because I've been so busy starting back at school.

So while Bjarni sits with his encyclopedia ready just in case somebody Googles something, I'm happily catching up on sleeping and blogging. Because as much as I like to rib Bjarni for being a geek, what with writing code being his special super-power and everything, I'm really just as nerdy as he is. But let's not forget that it was him who once took my hand over the dinner table and said earnestly:

"I don't want to sound too geeky, but sometimes this whole internet thing is like that film Revenge of the Nerds actually came true."
