There will be vol-au-vents

My mother is busily arranging the premiere of my film, for when I get back to Wales next week. Well, actually, I've instructed her to do this, so hopefully she's busy arranging it.

I'm not sure if the guests realise the film is less than 3 minutes long; I hope this won't be a disappointment. This is Dolwyddelan, not Los Angeles, and villagers like John Pen-y-Gelli will have to walk through forest and marshland to get to our house. I've told them it's strictly black-tie.

Update: There will be no vol-au-vents, according to a disgruntled email from my mother.

  2. You need some celebs to show up on the red carpet.

Or is John Pen-y-Gelli a celeb?

Will he be wearing a revealing Versace frock?

Premier - Pronounced as the French do or the Yanks? i.e. Derrière vs com'ere. Or perhaps, as we Paddys do, as in football leagues. Trust me, it's important. It may explain the absence of vol-au-vents.

  4. A premiere organised by your Mum- how cool- mine isn't even interested in just having a look at my blog. And I'm not even asking for nibbles.

  6. Unfortunately, I can't put it on the internet until the actors have seen it, and I'm not sure when that will be.

Tim: You have no idea how right you are.

Primal: oh god, I knew that. How embarrassing.

Marcia: We can have an Icelandic premiere too! I'll bring it "on tour".

  7. Oh come on Mrs Annie!

My lithuanian friend was trying to tell me what she was bringing to the college lunch and described a vol-au-vent as 'beautiful tiny sweet with hole for fish'.

    How could you resist?

  10. I've put red velour curtains around my screen and I'm just waiting for your cue to open them.

Incidentally, let us know the aspect ratio so we can be prepared.

Oh, your mum may have misheard you... try saying vol-oh-vong as we do here, I'm sure that will clear up any misunderstanding.
