Bjarni chuckles away to himself while he sits with his laptop, surfing the world wide web.
"What are you laughing at?" I ask him, looking up from a very long and very dull book about the history of silent cinema.
"Web comics," he replies.
"Oh," I say, trying not to sound disappointed. "I just thought maybe you were reading my blonk."
"You sound disappointed," he says. "But you haven't written anything on your blonk in weeks!"
"I know. But you could at least be reading the archives."
He goes back to his comics.

How's the preparation for you shoot going?
ReplyDeleteIt's okay, except for being like a horrible reality TV show.
ReplyDeleteWe shoot on Sunday. I'm a little nervous to be honest. We have a good cast, but the children keep looking into the camera, and the dog pulled out at the last minute.
It's a 10 hour shoot, and it's the first time we have worked together as a crew. I will be so happy to see Monday morning when it is all over.
was he reading xkcd? that's a funny comic. you should read it, then you can laugh mysteriously and not tell bjarni.
ReplyDelete"White Ninja" apparently.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I read xkcd, but most of that science stuff is way over my head, in fairness. In general, I tend not to read comics as I hate fun.
I agree with your boy toy. Filming great movies and being productive is all well and good, but after hooking us all on the blonk, you just can't pull up stakes and get a life! We can't handle the cold-turkeyness of it all! What will we do at work to pass the time? How will we get to know far far far too much about sex toys? Where will I learn interesting and unpronouncable bits of Welsh???
ReplyDeleteBlonk you silly Welsh girl! Blonk like the wind!
Yay! Nice to have word from you this Friday. Good luck with the shoot.
ReplyDeleteWow...has it really been that long ;)
ReplyDeleteBraf dy weld di'n postio eto!
Goddammit,
ReplyDeleteI keep checking in to your site for entertainment - and, FINALLY, HALLELUJAH, there is life.
Oh.
I must apologize, I'm drunk this
evening so I'm bailing out............ F*ck, f*ck, f*ck
I am also falling behind in my bloggerly duties. I'm always wishing the damn thing would write itself. I enjoy the accolades but can't be arsed to do the actual work.
ReplyDeleteYay a new post! You could always blog a comic just for Bjarni..
ReplyDelete"very dull book about the history of silent cinema"?
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't "The Parade's Gone By" by Kevin Brownlow was it? Hope not as that is a classic in my 'umble opinion. If you haven't read it you most certainly should.
The only bad book on silent film I've read (or at least read a bit of) is "The Look of Buster Keaton" by Robert Benayoun. Full of lovely pictures but also (alas) full of tedious, pretentious and unintentionally hilarious musings about the great man's work.
