Know anyone in Dublin who wants to be a movie star?

We're holding auditions for two short 35mm films this weekend in Dublin, one of which is being directed by yours truly. These are student productions but we'll be working with actual real life professionals, including a Director of Photography who's just finished Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's latest flick, which I'm rather excited about. Roles as follows:

Film One
Female teacher: 35-60 years
2 Police Officers
3 Young People: 8-15 years
(Guardian must accompany minors to casting session)

Film Two
Male office workers: 20-40 years
Female office workers: 20-40 years
Male boss: 20-50 years
Guest speaker: 30-45 years
2 Police Officers

We'll be filming on November 10th and 11th on location. Auditions held this Saturday and Sunday at UCD. Email me for the Producer's phone number.

Apologies for the use of this blonk as advertising space. Next week: Viagra!

  1. Just one more reason that I wish I was in Dublin right now.

  3. "Female teacher: 35-60 years"

    That's the lead role.

    60 isn't old!

  5. Do these roles require any martial arts training, or the ability to ride a motorbike? Or tap dancing, or intermediate-level Cantonese? Because just about every bloody actor's CV I've seen includes these skills, but I've never seen a job that requires them.

  6. "Two police officers" in both films. Don't tell me the Masons are overtaking the Scientologists in the movie business?

    Major good luck!

  7. If you ever need a Welsh-speaking American in his early 30s, I am SO your guy.

Somehow I don't think I'll be getting the call. Did I ever blog about the time I didn't get a callback for a part in a Russell Crowe film?

Wish I was in Dublin to try out for you.

For some reason people think I was a teacher...

I am a mother does that count...

  9. Oh dear god, I participated in the filming of a music video for a very low budget shonky heap of shit when I was a student.

It was probably the most excruciating two hours of my life. Thank fuck it never saw the light of day.

Not that I want to put anybody off or anything...

I am actually 35, female and my granny was a teacher. Plus I took Drama last year.

Though I'd rather play a truculent horse if you have a role for that.

  19. Funny how all these roles have an age bracket - except for the coppers. I guess police officers only come in "middle-aged and very handsome" in your dreams ;)
