Butterflies and aeroplanes

Here is Nina's new blog template, which I made for her last week, with butterflies and aeroplanes, because she's always flying off to an exotic new location, and pink because it's her favourite colour.

It's working fine in all browsers except spacky Internet Explorer 6, of course, where the top left of the header is getting chopped off because it hangs over the edge. Any tips? Not even Bjarni Supergeek was able to fix this one.

If you're still using Internet Explorer please do the world wide web a favour and download Firefox instead. It's free and it will get you laid.

  2. It seems to be doing that in Opera 9 too, I'm afraid. Looks pretty though!

  3. 1. Remove the overflow=hidden of the #header-wrapper.

    2. In IE6, breaking out of boxes requires giving the rendering engine a kick. Set position=relative, and z-index=1, to the header.

    #header-wrapper {
    margin : ...;
    width : 900px;
    _z-index : 1;
    _position : relative;
    }

    The _ is for hiding things from other browsers.

    This might require you also to put a z-index (and position=relative) on the content-wrapper as well if the heading then decides to be topmost.

    Where is my badge?

    What Annie says about Firefox is truth.

  6. what Annie says about Firefox is very true. That's why it doesn't bother me so much that it doesn't work perfectly in Internet Explorer. But of course even better if it can be fixed. Once again Annie, takk fyrir!

  7. Unfortunately, most people just use Internet Explorer because that's what they're given, so we better fix it. But first I must spend the weekend getting drunk.

  8. I love Firefox and use it almost exclusively, but there seem to be some videos on some websites that won't play... won't seem to allow me to download the correct media player in Firefox. Probably something stupid that I'm missing.

  11. Looks fantastic and quite professional. You should definitely start charging and takin' in the dough hand over fist.

  12. In every single browser I have on my Powerbook, the entire head of the page gets cut off!

    Safari, Firefox, Camino, Shiira, Flock and Opera.

    Must be something fishy going on...
