Q. Why couldn't he have snuffed it at 27 years old like all the other musical geniuses of the world?
A. Because if he had died a premature rock 'n' roll death we'd be subjugated to years upon years worth of tribute albums and memorial concerts.
I really, truly hope he outlives me.

i thought he died already! with the tribute and all..
ReplyDeleteHi..former lurker, first time caller....after that horrible documentary on PBS, he needs to kick off..now.
ReplyDeleteSpooky!
ReplyDeleteYou know how sometimes we talk of living in a strange parallel universe? Well the last thing I said to David last night was "Urrgh is Bob Dylan dead yet?" and then this morning I check your blog for the first time in a week.
Parallel universe indeed! Did you say it with impatience in your voice? Or was the "urrgh" bit more of a panic?
ReplyDeleteYeah, the tributes keep confusing me too.
I thought he, like David Jason, was already dead too. Last night I learned Myra Hindley is dead and it seems I had been confusing her with Maxine Carr.
ReplyDeleteEasily done.
My mistake, I meant it in neither of those ways. It was more of a quizzical wondering, so a 'Urm' or 'Hmmm' might have been more apt.
ReplyDeleteI know I am very late to post something. But he is still very much alive.. I'm seeing him in concert November 1st. And what's wrong with you wanting him to die at the age 27? He's a legend. Who actually says they want someone to die?
