Goodbye Iceland

Today is my last day at work for 5 weeks. Tomorrow I leave for the UK, off to spend a month at the London Film Academy. My intention was to develop my communication and screenwriting skills, but right now, with the holidays imminent, all I feel like doing is making really self-indulgent, really pretentious, really "arty" films that nobody will ever want to watch. Probably in black and white.

Can't wait.

  1. Ah, this takes me back to when 120 minutes was the indie/alternative show on MTV. This show featured music videos of a very experimental-film-ish nature.

Lightblubs. Swinging lightbulbs. Butterflies flying around lightbulbs. Butterflies flying around swinging lightbulbs...

You will be directing videos on par with classics like Nirvana's Come as you are in no time.

  2. Good luck with the film school and whatnot. I hope that the World Cup doesn't bore you too much.

  6. Thanks guys. I'm here and I'm happy, although it seems very dark outside.

Phil, I'm actually getting sucked into World Cup fever already. Have decided with my heart and soul to throw myself into English football fandom, if only as a way to escape Big Brother. Despite the majority of English football fans being cunts (you excluded).

Borgar, a film about "swinging" isn't such a bad idea. As long as it's not in colour, it's not porn.

  7. Good for you, Annie. It's nice to see you staying away from the 'support anyone but the English' attitude so often taken by the Welsh, Scottish and, to a lesser degree, Irish. I'm with you on the whole Big Brother thing. I've discovered that I can watch annoying people sitting around a house without turning on a television just by spending time with my family. it's grand.

  8. Ha, exactly.

As for the England thing, the only reason I was considering NOT supporting them was because the sooner they got knocked out the sooner the WC would be cancelled, solving all problems except the Big Brother one. It was nothing to do with being a racist Welsh gobshite.
